I am an aspiring investigative journalist, looking to address complicated topics over a long-term stretch via regular online posts and articles. An Eye Through The Door seeks to highlight subjects that are often difficult to adequately cover via one article or published piece, and instead seeks to provide its readers with a series of snapshots that (hopefully) cumulatively build a deeper comprehension of an important contemporary issue.
My background is in History, and so I have always appreciated the task of research and the process of building one coherent picture out of many disparate elements. I feel that much online news coverage and journalism amounts to a lot of ‘noise’ without an actual purpose to exist other than contributing to the never-ceasing digital outrage industry and harvesting clickbait. I instead seek to cultivate a reader-base that shares a passion for accessible, long-term, focused journalism.
